Deck Material Features

Here at Branford Building Supplies we have everything you need to create a beautiful, long-lasting, spend every minute you can on it deck. If you already have one, we’ll help you maintain it and keep it beautiful and protected all year long.

Wood Decks – when an authentic look trumps all else, select wood. It’s easy to work with and comes in a variety of species, including Cedar, Mahogany and Ipe, a Brazilian Walnut. Wood decks need to be painted, sealed or stained, and we carry everything you need to keep your wood deck looking fabulous.

Cedar – We offer clear and STK cedar deck boards by Western Forest Products, a leading producer of quality appearance lumber products and known for distinctive straight and fine-grained fiber. Cedar decks offer natural insect resistance, and can be stained and maintained, or left to weather to a beautiful silvery-grey color. Complimentary cedar rail products are available.

Mahogany – Red Meranti is one of the most beautiful, durable, and decay-resistant species of wood in the world. It can add the perfect amount of warm, rich color to any home. The mahogany that we purchase is sourced from countries that are leaders in ecological, sustained forestry practices. No harmful chemicals are needed to treat mahogany boards.

Ipe – we stock the original – PauLope Brand decking. Considered the world’s finest hardwood decking, bar none, for its high-grade, defect-restricted, low-moisture content. Ipe will acclimate to an appealing grey patina, and the color can be maintained with annual treatments.

Composite Decks – when you’re looking for an easy-care, low maintenance deck, select composite. Available in a wide range of colors and textures, it won’t splinter, crack, or rot. Choose from Trex, AZEK or Timbertech. And, while composite decks don’t need re-painting or re-sealing, they do need to be kept clean. Check with our expert staff on which product will work best for your deck.
